A Great Game, Monopoly

                                                         Monopoly:  A Great Game

Monopoly is a game about buying and selling property. My personal favorite property is Boardwalk. Boardwalk is like the king of all properties, but it is not cheap! It is four hundred dollars just to purchase the deed. If you want to put a house on it, you'll need another two hundred dollars.

So in all, it would be six hundred dollars in Monopoly money.  If you can afford three houses, the rent for landing on you property is  $1,400! That puts a lot of money in your account, but also hurts the other competitors and gives you a better chance of winning this incredibly entertaining game.

Here is what the board looks like.  I think that CHANCE and COMMUNITY CHEST are really useful sometimes, but then again, they sometimes send you DIRECTLY to jail for no reason.

These are the deeds to the neighborhoods.  For instance, here
is the Electric Companies deed. It is a utility, just like Water Works.

Here is a picture of a five dollar bill, but it is on top of a stack of $1,500 in Monopoly money.  This money allows you to buy property and make more money through rent.  If you run out of money, you might be able to make a deal to stay in the game...otherwise you lose.

What is your favorite board game?

Have you ever won at Monopoly?

  1. Dear Peter,

Playing Monopoly is entertaining, but it takes a long time to finish.

Bennett has played 10 times and won three. Collin has played 15 times and won 7. Bennett’s favorite property is the expensive Boardwalk. Collin’s favorite property is the amazing Water Works. Our favorite card in Chance is the jail break card. It lets you get out of jail.

Collin’s favorite board game is Cranium. Cranium is a game where you pick a card, and it will either say data head, word worm, star performer, and creative cat. Each card has either a question you have to answer or a performance you have to do. Bennett’s favorite board game is Clue. Clue is a mystery game where try to find out who murdered the millionaire.

Have you ever played Clue or Cranium?

    Sincerely,
    Collin and Bennett

  2. Dear Peter,

Bryce's favorite board game is Clue. Clue is fun because you need to try and find out who took what where. Nate's favorite board game is also Monopoly because he likes to buy a lot of hotels.

Bryce has once won Monopoly, and it was all luck. Sadly, Nate has never pulled off a win in the incredibly hard game.

Bryce has a few kinds of Monopoly including Disneyland, Dinosaur, bugs, Monopoly Jr and regular. Nate has just regular Monopoly.

I like chance and Community chest because it gives you out of jail passes, but sadly sometimes it gives you go directly to jail cards. It definitely goes both ways.

I also like Boardwalk because your competitors get very scared, and want to throw the die tiring to get a big roll. Boardwalk will get a very intense number, and very easy to get a colossal amount of money if someone lands on it. That will be good for you and bad for your competitors. Boardwalk is such a grand property never trade it. Even if it is for the whole banks worth of money.:)

    Have you ever won Monopoly?
If so how did you win, by money or by your competitors running out of money?

    Sincerely,

    Bryce and Nate

  3. Hey Peter, I love to play Monopoly. It's my favorite board game.
My favorite properties are Pacific and North Carolina Avenues.
I've even played with your mom and dad before you were born. I won and your mom was mad.
Anyhow, we should all play sometime I think that would be fun!
Love reading your blog, keep up the great work.
